AION 2 Server Transfer Checklist: Launch Server Window, Rules and What Stays Behind
If you play on an AION 2 Global launch server, your transfer window opens after the regular maintenance on October 20 (PDT) / October 21 (CEST) and closes before the maintenance on October 27 (PDT) / October 28 (CET). The transfer is free (0 Quna) unless you need extra character slots, but you get one transfer per account for the whole event, and it can’t be cancelled or reversed. Before you click anything, empty your Server Storage, clear your Market listings, leave your Legion and park every character you plan to move in a town.
This guide covers Global (Steam and PURPLE) only and is based on NC’s official server transfer notices on Steam, last updated October 14–15. Korea and Taiwan follow their own rules.
Who can transfer, and where to
The rules are short, but each one closes a door:
- Launch servers move to launch servers. Early access servers had their own window from October 13 to October 20 (PDT), and they can only move to other early access servers.
- Same region, same faction. You can’t move from Europe to North America, and you can’t turn an Elyos character into an Asmodian one.
- One transfer per account, one server to one server. There’s no cap on how many characters go in that transfer, so select everyone at once. There is no second try.
- Level 10 or higher, and all selected characters must be on the same source server.
- Cost: base fee 0 Quna, 0 Quna per character, and 1,000 Quna per extra slot if the destination server doesn’t have enough free character slots. NC’s own example: moving 6 characters to a server where only 4 slots are free costs 2,000 Quna. Slot expansions you bought on your current server stay on that server.
Daily windows and the hourly cap
You can only apply during your region’s daily windows:
| Region | PDT | CEST |
|---|---|---|
| North America East, North America West, South America | 09:00–13:00 and 15:00–19:00 | 18:00–22:00 and 00:00–04:00 (next day) |
| Europe | 03:00–07:00 and 09:00–13:00 | 12:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:00 |
| Asia | 20:00–00:00 and 02:00–06:00 | 05:00–09:00 and 11:00–15:00 |
Every server also caps transfers in and out, and the count refreshes every hour on the hour. If your source’s outgoing slots or the destination’s incoming slots are gone, wait for the next hour or window, even if you already have characters there. NC adds that a server with excessive requests may have transfers closed permanently, so leaving it to October 27 is a gamble.
Some players on the Steam forums reported that during early access week, popular servers filled within minutes of each refresh. We can’t verify that, but be ready before the hour.
One caveat: Europe leaves summer time on October 25, while the US stays on PDT until November 1. NC lists “CEST/CET” without separate winter times, so if the windows follow PDT, European times may move an hour earlier for the last days. That isn’t confirmed; go by the official notice and the in-game screen.
Prep checklist: do this the day before
The purchase button only becomes active once every condition is met. Clear these in advance so you can apply the moment the count refreshes:
- Server Storage. Nothing stored there moves, not even Kinah. Move what you want to keep into the transferring character’s Cube inventory or Character Storage. Only the expansion count carries over (the higher of the two servers).
- Market. Cancel or finish your listings, then collect unsold items and any sales proceeds you haven’t received.
- Shop Storage. Claim everything, including the Founder’s Pack if you never opened it.
- Mail. Claim all mail on every character you’re moving.
- Legion. Leave your Legion and cancel pending applications. Tell your leader so you can be re-invited later.
- Duty missions. No character in the transfer can have an active Duty mission.
- Location. Stand in a village. You can’t apply from the Abyss, a Spacetime Rift or a dungeon.
- Names. Every transferred character becomes “@TemporaryName” and you pick a name at first login. If yours is taken on the destination, you can’t keep it, so have backups ready.
- Slots. Count the free character slots on the destination and keep enough Quna for any extra ones.
Decide what you’re leaving behind
The account-wide systems are where people get caught out:
- Pets and skins leave the old server completely. Closet skins, pets, titles, achievements and Theostones are merged into the destination and reset on the old server. NC says characters left behind can no longer equip those pets and skins, so alts you keep there lose the collection. For most players, the answer is to move every character you care about together.
- Genus Insight is a choice. You pick the progress from either the current server or the destination, and the current server’s Genus Insight is reset either way. If you’ve built pet progress on both servers, compare them before you confirm.
- Duplicates turn into tickets. A Special Pet you already own on the destination gives a Pet Reward Ticket (refund through Customer Support); a duplicate non-customizable skin gives a Skin (Single) Reward Ticket for the “300 Quna” Shop item. Both expire at the November 24 (PST) / 25 maintenance. Pass Shop duplicates are refunded in Pass Coins.
- Purchase limits don’t reset. Character-based limits carry over as they are. For server-based limits, the higher of your two counts applies, so you can’t buy more by moving. Your daily Kinah and Abyss Point earnings also transfer with the character.
- Shop changes during the transfer period. Per the October 14 patch notes, Soul Crystals and Instant Clear Tickets: Daily Dungeon move from Wind Breeze Merchants > Special to Substance Morph, and Odyle Energy (Bound) loses its 16-per-server weekly limit while the per-character limit rises from 4 to 20.
- Abyss access. Remaining Abyss time, Spacetime Rift time and Abyss Corridor usage move with you, but you can’t enter the Abyss Corridor if the destination hasn’t captured it.
- Server-wide progress. Reward progress for Daily Dungeons, Shugo Festival and Dimensional Invasion is copied to the destination and also stays on your old server.
- Halloween event. Trick or Treat attendance and event missions are counted per server, and neither notice explains what happens to event progress after a transfer. To be safe, claim attendance and spend this week’s Pumpkin Coins before you move.
Almost everything else comes along: Kinah in the Cube and Character Storage, Quna and Mileage (added to the destination’s), Membership (merged), Daeva Pass progress, wings, Arcana, season points and missions, dungeon reward counts, and friends and block lists. NC’s table marks only Server Storage contents and the mail block list as not moving.
Transfer day, step by step
- Log in during your region’s window and make sure the character is in a village.
- Open In-Game Shop → Server Transfer.
- Choose the destination and tick every character you want to move. If a server can’t accept transfers right now, a message appears when you select it.
- Confirm. You return to the title screen and can’t log in until it’s done: at least one minute, longer under load. PURPLE users get a push notification.
- Log in, set your new names, check your inventory and Character Storage, and re-apply to your Legion.
If the button stays grey, check your region’s window, then the prep list (unclaimed mail is a common miss), then the hourly count.
Where Aion2 Bot fits
Aion2 Bot doesn’t apply for transfers; that stays manual. It helps on either side of it. Before you apply, click “Stop all” in the Daily Activities planner so no character wanders out of town halfway through. After the move, open the Control Center, double-click the account and use “Bound characters › refresh list / sync current server” from account status, so each character’s level, Kinah and daily Kinah cap progress match the new server. Transfers stay within one region, so the Global region you picked when adding the account (multi-server support) stays the same.
Keep the risks in mind. NC restricts accounts for bots and unauthorized programs, and every third-party tool carries that risk. Aion.Onl uses advanced anti-detection techniques to protect accounts as far as possible, but nobody can promise you won’t be banned. New users can register at user.aion.onl for a free 3-hour trial card. The bot supports fullscreen, but set your resolution before installing (setup guide), because you can’t change it afterwards. Support is on Telegram.
