AION 2 Global Launch Server Pairings: Europe Adds Nathara and Tassin
Region: Steam/PURPLE Global, not Korea or Taiwan. We covered the Advanced Access pairings for Europe on September 28, but never followed up on the launch servers. NC keeps updating its “New Server and Matchmaking Information” notice on the AION 2 Steam announcements page, and on October 8 it opened a new pair of servers in Europe. The lists below reflect the version of the notice we retrieved from Steam on October 16.
How server pairing works
In AION 2, each server houses only one faction. Every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server for a limited time. When you enter the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts or other cross-faction modes, the opposing players you meet come from your paired server. NC’s example: if Asmodian server Israphel is paired with Elyos server Siel, every Israphel Asmodian entering the Abyss runs into Siel’s Elyos.
When you launch the game you pick a Region, then a Faction, then a server. Pairings are not permanent; NC says it will update them periodically to keep the factions balanced.
Launch server pairings (Elyos vs. Asmodian)
| Region | Launch server pairings |
|---|---|
| Europe | Nania vs Hadala, Tahavatha vs Ludra, Luteros vs Ulgorn, Phernos vs Munin, Daminu vs Odar, Kasaka vs Zemurru, Bakarma vs Kromede, Tsenka vs Quai, Kochi vs Baba, Ishtar vs Fafnir, Tiamat vs Indnath, Gauss vs Agnita, Lamuatan vs Atiel, Nathara vs Tassin |
| NA East | Kaisinel vs Lumiel, Yustiel vs Marchutan, Ariel vs Azphel, Fregion vs Ereshkigal, Meslamtaeda vs Beritra, Hithanya vs Nemon |
| NA West | Vaizel vs Triniel, Kaisinel vs Lumiel, Yustiel vs Marchutan |
| Latin America | Vaizel vs Triniel, Kaisinel vs Lumiel, Yustiel vs Marchutan, Ariel vs Azphel |
| Asia | Kaisinel vs Lumiel, Yustiel vs Marchutan, Ariel vs Azphel, Fregion vs Ereshkigal, Meslamtaeda vs Beritra, Hitani vs Nemon |
NA East’s Hithanya vs Nemon is marked as added on October 9 at 15:00 PDT / October 10 at 00:00 CEST. The later European pairs from Ishtar vs Fafnir onward, and the last three Asian pairs, also carry “time updated” stamps, but without dates. Server names are spelled as in the notice: Europe’s Tahavatha appears as Tahavata in NC’s earlier pairing post, and Asia’s Hitani is spelled differently from Hithanya elsewhere.
Advanced Access server pairings
| Region | Advanced Access server pairings |
|---|---|
| Europe | Siel vs Israphel, Nezekan vs Zikel, Vaizel vs Triniel, Kaisinel vs Lumiel, Yustiel vs Marchutan, Ariel vs Azphel, Fregion vs Ereshkigal, Meslamtaeda vs Beritra, Hithanya vs Nemon |
| NA East, Asia | Siel vs Israphel, Nezekan vs Zikel, Vaizel vs Triniel |
| NA West, Latin America | Siel vs Israphel, Nezekan vs Zikel |
Several regions share server names, Kaisinel and Lumiel for example. Each region’s servers are separate.
Europe’s new servers: Nathara and Tassin
On October 8, NC opened a new pair in Europe: Nathara for Elyos and Tassin for Asmodians, at 09:00 PDT / 18:00 CEST. They are paired with each other. NC encouraged players to join the new servers and reminded them that server transfers would later let them rejoin friends, and that all instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server.
What this means for Global players
Your pairing decides which server’s opposing faction you fight in the Abyss, so it’s worth checking a server’s current partner before you pick it or transfer there. NC is clear that pairings rotate, though, so today’s rival may be replaced later. Don’t treat the current pairing as a long-term reason to choose a server.
Server transfers are open right now. Early Access servers run until before the October 20 (PDT) maintenance, and Launch servers open after it. Transfers stay within the same region and faction, and every server has transfer-in and transfer-out caps. For newer servers like Nathara and Tassin, population and transfer slots can change quickly, so check what the client shows.
