AION 2 Siege Guide (Global): How the Abyss Artifact Siege Works
Yes, AION 2 has sieges, but not the fortress-and-gate sieges veterans remember from AION 1. On Global (Steam and PURPLE), “siege” means the Abyss Artifact Siege: Elyos and Asmodians fight over artifacts inside the Lower Abyss on a set schedule, and the winning faction unlocks the Abyss Corridor and gets first shot at the boss that follows.
This guide covers what NC has confirmed and what players report from the first weeks of Global. Exact start times and reward numbers are set per server, so check the in-game schedule and official notices for those.
The siege at a glance
| Question | Answer on Global | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Inside the Abyss (level 45+, uses your Abyss time) | Patch notes and Abyss notices |
| What you fight over | Usually 3 artifacts per round; results read like 3:0 or 2:1 | Player reports |
| Who gets an artifact | The faction that lands the last hit on its core, not the one with the most damage | Player reports |
| Player cap | Around 300 per faction in the Abyss; late arrivals can’t get in | Player reports |
| Reward | Abyss Corridor access, the post-siege boss, Abyss Points | Server Transfer Q&A, player reports |
| Castle sieges like AION 1 | Not on Global right now | Player reports |
When is the siege? (AION 2 siege time)
Start times depend on your server’s region, so read them from the in-game event schedule and the Abyss map rather than a fixed list online. What players have learned:
- Get in early. On busy servers the Abyss can be full 45 minutes before the siege. Some players go in two or three hours early to be sure of a slot.
- Watch faction chat. Rally calls go out before the start. If you have no legion, follow the main group.
- Weekends are not always bigger. Some servers have shown up almost empty on one side, which comes down to the faction ratio on that server.
Before the fight
1. Check your Abyss time
Waiting in the Abyss still burns Abyss time, and Global caps stored time at 7 hours since the October 13/14 patch. Until the October 27 (PDT) / 28 (CET) maintenance, the Conquerors of the Abyss event sells Lower Abyss Rift Stone (7 Days) (Bound) in Shop > Wind Breeze Merchants > Special: 50,000 Kina each, 7 per character per week, level 45+, 1 hour of Abyss time per stone, not tradable, deleted 7 days after you receive it. The Abyss guide explains how to budget those hours.
2. Drop your graphics settings
Hundreds of players on one screen hurt frame rates badly. One player recording on a top-end GPU at max settings saw base FPS fall into the teens. Before the siege:
- lower shadows, effects and the number of visible characters;
- close background programs;
- set resolution and window mode in advance and don’t alt-tab mid-fight.
Crash and setup problems are covered in the setup guide.
3. Gear and role
Gear gaps in the Abyss are large, and players often describe the other side as full of high-power characters. If your gear score is low, don’t solo-charge the front line. Clearing guards, landing crowd control and holding respawn points all count.
4. Join a group
The artifact siege is a faction fight, and one player alone barely moves it. Follow your legion’s caller, or join a group forming in faction chat. The legion guide covers finding one.
How to fight it
- Clear guards before the core. Each artifact has guardian monsters around it, and players joke that the earth elemental guards take longer than a dungeon boss. Ranged and magic classes do the most work here.
- Time the last hit. The core goes to whoever finishes it, so when it is low, stack damage on it and screen the other faction. Don’t scatter to chase kills while the core has a sliver of HP left.
- Hold respawn and teleport points. Players report that after losing an artifact, the winners camp the losing side’s respawn or teleport spots. Leave people on those points so your group isn’t picked off one by one.
- Outnumbered? Pick one target. On lopsided servers, putting everyone on one artifact beats spreading thin across three.
- About AFK characters. Players on several servers say the Abyss fills with idle characters before the siege, taking slots from people who want to play. It is a heated topic and an easy report target, so play the siege yourself.
After a win: Abyss Corridor and the boss
- Abyss Corridor: the winning faction gets markers on a few floating islands (players count about 3 per round). The Corridor itself is a short, pure PvE instance you can enter once per opening cycle. NC’s Server Transfer Q&A also says you can’t use the Corridor on a destination server whose faction hasn’t taken it.
- When to enter: players suggest going in after the siege ends and before the Abyss boss spawns, when the other side is least likely to be camping.
- Abyss boss: the boss usually follows the siege while numbers and morale are high, which makes it a good time for Abyss Points and materials.
- Abyss Points: the siege, the Corridor and the boss all give Abyss Points, one of the main ways to buy Stigma pieces.
If your faction keeps losing
Many Global servers are lopsided, often with more Asmodians, and some players say their side has not won a siege since launch. Options:
- Server transfer. NC has opened server transfers with limits and windows set in its notices. Moving to a server with an even ratio and active legions is the most direct fix. The server transfer checklist lists what moves with your character.
- Farm off-peak. Outside siege hours, the smaller faction can avoid the big groups, pick off stragglers or just farm in peace.
Leave the daily Abyss grind to Aion2 Bot
The siege itself needs people: calls, timing and teamwork, so it is not something to automate. Everything around it takes hours, though. Aion2 Bot’s Abyss farming runs your set routes in the Abyss, flight handles moving through its layered terrain, and Abyss gathering collects Abyss materials. Let the tool handle the daily Abyss time so you have the energy for the evening siege.
Any third-party tool carries a risk of account action under the game’s rules. Aion.Onl uses advanced anti-detection technology to keep accounts as safe as it can, but no one can promise zero risk, so read the rules and decide for yourself.
