AION 2 Halloween Event Guide: Pumpkin Coin Shop Priorities

The AION 2 Halloween event, “Trick or Treat!”, runs on the Global servers (Steam and PURPLE) from after the October 13 (PDT) / 14 (CEST) maintenance until before the November 3 (PST) / 4 (CET) maintenance. You log in for a 14-day attendance track, clear ten weekly event missions for Halloween Pumpkin Coins, and spend them at a Coin Merchant in town. Short version: buy the Special Halloween Chest first (250 coins, one per server). If you are level 45, spend the rest each week on Odyle Energy and Lower Abyss Rift Stones.

Every number below comes from NC’s official Trick or Treat notice posted on Steam on October 15. The Korean and Taiwanese servers run their own events, so check their own notices if you play there.

How many Pumpkin Coins can you get?

14-day attendance

Open In-game menu → Attendance and look for the “Trick or Treat” track. Days 1–6 and 8–13 give 35 coins each, while days 7 and 14 give 100. That adds up to 620 coins for a full track. Attendance resets at 12:00 AM PDT / 9:00 AM CEST and can be claimed once per server.

The event lasts about three weeks, but attendance only needs 14 logins. That gives you roughly a week of slack. Don’t push it to the last minute, though: start logging in daily by around October 21 to be safe. US daylight saving time ends on November 1, so the reset may move by an hour after that. Trust the in-game timer.

Ten weekly event missions

You’ll find them under Season Mission → Event. Each one resets once per week per server:

Clearing all ten gives 235 coins per week. The event should cover about three weekly resets, so you can probably run the missions three times. The exact reset time is the one shown in your client.

One detail changes how you play the event: attendance and missions both count per server, not per character. Running the missions on an alt on the same server won’t pay out a second time, so finish them on your main.

Pumpkin Coin shop: what to buy first

Every town gets a Coin Merchant NPC. Elyos will find it at Dawn Legion Base or Zumion Village in Verteron. Asmodians will find it at Safe Haven or Nornir Assembly in Altgard.

Why this order works:

The chest is the best value. It contains the Spooky Scary Skeleton breastplate skin plus 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals. Soul crystals pay for genus analysis in the pet system and take a long time to farm, so the chest is a big deal for anyone grinding pets. Buy it as soon as attendance gets you to 250.
At level 45, Odyle Energy and Rift Stones come next. Maxing both each week costs just 100 coins. Odyle Energy pays for more PvE rewards, and each Rift Stone adds Lower Abyss time on top of the 7-hour cap NC set in the same patch.
Tickets and keys depend on your routine. If you run the daily dungeon every day, take the Instant Clear Tickets. If you hit the hourly mini-game often, take the reward keys.
Buy candy and cookies only when you’ll eat them. Each lasts 5 minutes. Candy gives Attack 25, Defense 250, Max Stamina 300 and +40% natural stamina regen. Cookies give Max HP 500, Max MP 250, Max Stamina 300 and the same regen. Both are deleted on November 3.

Candy Keys: a bonus from Expedition and Transcendence

Clearing Expedition and Transcendence Dungeons drops Candy Key Fragments (Event). In Event Substance Morphs, 60 fragments craft one Red, Yellow or Blue Candy Key at a 100% success rate. Each color can be crafted once per week per server. Use the keys on the event candies placed around town:

Yellow Candy: 10,000 Abyss Points, Life Crystal ×10, Halloween Candy ×5, Halloween Cookie ×5
Blue Candy: Odyle Energy ×4, Resurrection Spiritstone ×10, Halloween Candy ×5, Halloween Cookie ×5

One fragment can also be morphed into 10 Superior Power Shards. Save enough for all three keys each week first (180 fragments), then convert the rest. The notice doesn’t say how many fragments drop per clear. Expedition and Transcendence are weekly missions anyway, so each clear moves the coins and the keys forward together.

Deletion dates: don’t hoard

This is where people lose rewards. According to the official notice:

November 3, 11:00 PM PST / November 4, 8:00 AM CET: Halloween Candy, Halloween Cookie, Candy Key Fragments and all Candy Keys are deleted.
December 15, 11:00 PM PST / December 16, 8:00 AM CET: the Special Halloween Chest, Resurrection Spiritstone, Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon, Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket, Shugo Festival Reward Key and Odyle Energy (all Bound) are deleted.

Once the event ends, the mission rewards (your leftover coins) are also removed from your inventory. Spend your coins every week up to the weekly limits instead of saving them for the final day. Nothing from the event can be traded.

Open any event candy you have a key for.

Every week

Kill 10 monsters in the Abyss, join one Shugo Festival, join one Dimensional Invasion.
Clear Expedition, Transcendence, Ascension Trial and Nightmare once each, picking up key fragments along the way.
Use 5 scrolls, log in 3 times, pick up one Unique item.
Visit the Coin Merchant and buy up to this week’s limits.

Almost all of this is content you already run each week, so a regular player can max the missions without changing much.

The event itself is easy. The tiring part is the routine around it: showing up on time and running the Abyss, the hourly mini-game and your dailies every week, often on several accounts.

Shugo Festival auto join: keep the entry key on your character and farm on an open field map or in the Abyss.
