AION 2 Spiritmaster Guide (Global): Build, Spirits, Stigmas, Macro and PvP
Short answer: the AION 2 Spiritmaster is a ranged caster whose spirits are really part of the rotation. Every spirit summon gives you an elemental charge, four charges unlock Elemental Fusion, and Fusion is your big hit. On Global, push Combustion and Elemental Fusion highest, keep Fire Spirit as your main summon for damage, and take Summon: Ancient Spirit as your first stigma. Put spirit summons, Dimensional Control, Jointstrike: Curse and Combustion in the in-game macro. Keep Ancient Spirit and your burst buff on their own keys, and learn where the button is that dismisses your spirits, because on some bosses a spirit in the wrong place can wipe the group.
Skill effects below come from two community build sites: games.gg’s Spiritmaster guide (October 4, 2026) and the AION2 Codex guide, which cites Global client data 1.0.21.0 and was last edited on October 13. Player experience comes from r/Aion2 threads from August to October 2026. None of this is official data. NC does not publish skill numbers, so check the in-game tooltips and the official patch notes before you spend stigma shards. Korea and Taiwan are on a later balance season, and players say the class got several rounds of buffs there, so Korean builds and videos do not copy across one to one.
What the Spiritmaster does
| Item | Spiritmaster |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Orb (ranged magic) |
| Role | Ranged damage with summoned spirits; strong area damage, decent single target |
| Core mechanic | Spirit summons build 4 charges, then Elemental Fusion |
| Difficulty | Medium; most skills are instant, so movement is easy |
| Beginner rank | 4 of 8 in our class tier list |
| PvE / PvP (Shugo.gg) | A / A |
| Solo farming | A on Shugo.gg, S on aion2tierlist.com |
Some English sites call the class “Elementalist”, and many players search for “Spirit Master”. Same class; Global calls it Spiritmaster.
Players describe it as a caster more than a pet class. You don’t position or command the spirits; you summon them on cooldown for stacks, and at 4 stacks you cast the big spell. Aion 1 veterans who loved the old curse and DoT style say the new class is mostly elemental burst.
Spirits: which one to keep out
The four basic spirits share one job: each summon gives a charge toward Elemental Fusion. games.gg says any spirit adds a charge, so you don’t need all four. You can summon the same spirit again to get the next charge. What changes is what the spirit does while it is out.
| Spirit | What it does (games.gg) | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Fire Spirit | Rushes a target and hits up to 4 enemies within 5 m; 15% chance to use its skill on a basic attack | Default for damage and for farming packs |
| Water Spirit | Single target; 15% chance to restore 20 MP per attack | When MP runs short |
| Earth Spirit | Raises enmity; 30% chance to taunt players for 2 s | Holding mobs off you, PvP pressure |
| Wind Spirit | Hits up to 4 enemies within 5 m; 10% chance per attack to heal 1.5% max HP | Solo sustain |
| Summon: Ancient Spirit (stigma) | Grants Four Elements on each skill use; reuses its skill every 7 basic attacks, 5 at rank 15 | Your burst window; lasts about 30 s |
Fire or Earth? Most players keep Fire out for damage. One long-time Spiritmaster said Earth is “surprisingly fast” and many now run Earth with Ancient instead of Fire with Ancient. The same player said Water and Wind have too much animation delay for a damage rotation. Others still use Water when MP is the problem. Try Fire first, test Earth on a dummy, and keep whichever gives you the better one-minute number.
Can you have two spirits out? Yes, but only while Ancient Spirit is up. Players explain that Ancient Spirit counts as a second spirit for its 30 seconds, so it is two at most. One player also confirmed that Jointstrike: Curse applies the bonus for both spirits when Ancient Spirit is out with another one.
The spirit wipe problem. In Ferocious Den (players also call it Horn Den) at Conquest difficulty, players report that a spirit can block the last boss’s red orb mechanic around 30% HP and wipe the group. Dismiss your spirits before it. Players say each summoned spirit has an icon next to your skill bar (click it to remove that spirit; the circular arrow removes all), and you can bind a dismiss key in the settings.
Spiritmaster skill build: what to level first
Skill names follow games.gg; AION2 Codex translates a few differently (“Joint Curse”, “Soul Cry”).
| Skill | Target level (PvE) | What it does / why |
|---|---|---|
| Combustion | Highest; AION2 Codex aims for total 20 | Main filler nuke. Take the -20% MP specialty early |
| Elemental Fusion | Highest; total 20 | Cast at 4 charges. Specialties add damage after 3 s or turn it into area damage |
| Summon: Fire Spirit | 10 | Your main summon for damage |
| Summon: Water Spirit | 10 | Second summon, MP sustain |
| Jointstrike: Curse | 8–10 | Keep it up on the target; specialty gives +2 Curse duration and -2 s cooldown |
| Dimensional Control | 8–10 | Triggered when a spirit uses a skill; restores 100 MP |
| Cold Shock | 8–10 | Basic attack that restores MP. AION2 Codex says don’t chase 20 here |
| Defiance | 8 | Restores 20% HP and removes control effects |
| Soul’s Cry | 3 for PvE, more for PvP | Fear: 70% chance on players, 100% on NPCs |
| Wind Spirit, Earth Spirit, Rapid Scattershot | As needed | Utility. Rapid Scattershot mainly for world bosses |
Specialty slots open at total levels 8, 12 and 20, with all options visible from 16. Players keep repeating that level 16 unlocks the strongest specialty on most skills, and that most of your damage comes from skill levels and stigma levels. Levels past 10 come from rings, the Daevanion board and Arcana.
Passives
| Priority | Passive | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Spirit Strike | PvE and PvP damage plus Perfect chance; both sites put it first |
| 2 | Spirit’s Descent | +50% damage for 10 s after a summon (30 s for Ancient Spirit) |
| 3 | Consecutive Countercurrent | +50% damage to targets already taking damage over time |
| 4 | Mental Focus | AION2 Codex has it second; games.gg rates it high mainly for PvP |
| Later | Element Unification, Corrode, Spirit Protection | Low until you have strong gear; Spirit Protection helps while learning hard content |
Spiritmaster stigmas: PvE and PvP
Global characters have 4 stigma slots, unlocking at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37, with a cap of level 20. Each level costs 1 shard at levels 1–5, 2 at 6–10, 4 at 11–15 and 8 at 16–20, so one stigma at 20 costs 75 shards.
| Content | Stigmas | Idea |
|---|---|---|
| Bosses (best PvE stigma set) | Summon: Ancient Spirit, Spirit’s Benediction, Jointstrike: Corrode, Flame Blessing | All damage |
| Field farming and solo | Summon: Ancient Spirit, Spirit’s Benediction, Cursed Cloud, Corrode or Siphon | Area damage plus some sustain |
| Hard PvE, learning a boss | Command: Proxy, Spirit’s Benediction, Summon: Ancient Spirit, Siphon | Survive first |
| Arena (PvP stigma set) | Cry of Terror, Seize Magic, Magic Block, Command: Proxy | Control and damage sharing |
| Abyss | Cursed Cloud, Cry of Terror, Magic Block, plus one defensive or damage pick | Group fights |
Setups from games.gg. AION2 Codex lists the same four boss stigmas.
Spirit’s Benediction gives 20% PvE damage boost and 20% PvE damage tolerance plus 10 s of HP regen. Command: Proxy splits incoming damage 50/50 with a spirit within 25 m.
Which stigma to 20 first? Take Summon: Ancient Spirit. It is in every PvE setup and games.gg puts it first; one Spiritmaster said most of their damage comes from the window while it is up. AION2 Codex levels Jointstrike: Corrode first instead, so Corrode is the natural second pick. Players call Ancient Spirit, Corrode and Benediction “almost mandatory” in PvE and PvP, which leaves about one free slot.
Arcana
Arcana cards drop in Transcendence from 1,600 gear score. According to a player-written Arcana guide that cites the Global client tables, the Parchment carries Elemental Fusion and Fire Spirit for a Spiritmaster and the Compass carries Combustion. The Chalice can carry any of your 22 skills, so it is the card to transmute. We found no settled Spiritmaster pick for it; Elemental Fusion or Combustion, your two highest-priority skills, are the obvious candidates.
Daevanion board
Per games.gg: Nezekan (level 12) has combat speed nodes at +2.5% each, Zikel (20) damage boost nodes at +5% each, Vaizel (30) skill level nodes in the middle, Triniel (40) multi-hit and resist, and Azphel (45) PvP stats.
AION2 Codex suggests attack, cooldown reduction and summon skill levels first, then damage and critical damage by the shortest route. Players warn not to overspend Daevanion points early: “stigma shards first!”
Stats, gear and theostones
- Orb first. games.gg puts an orb with offensive stats at the top of the gear list, then manastones, then soul binding on gear you keep.
- Substats to aim for (AION2 Codex): weapon and off-hand: combat speed, weapon damage boost, damage boost. Head and cloak: double chance, attack. Rings: active skill levels, Might, Precision. Earrings: Might and passive skill levels. Necklace: combat speed and Might.
- Cooldown reduction and combat speed. A player said that with 35%+ cooldown reduction and over 100% attack speed there are almost no gaps in the rotation. Spiritmasters on r/Aion2 call the Talisra wings from the season shop (until December 16, 2026) a must-have.
- Accuracy. games.gg ranks reliable accuracy first for bosses, and players say Spiritmasters want more Perfect stats than most classes.
- Theostones. We have no reliable Global data on which theostone a Spiritmaster should use. Neither build site covers it. Until there is tested data, pick the one that adds damage or combat speed per its tooltip and check the official patch notes.
Pets and Genus Insight. “Spiritmaster pets” can also mean the in-game pet collection. Pets feed Genus Insight, a stat board that raises combat power for every class; our pet farming guide explains it.
Spiritmaster macro and rotation
The loop: summon spirits for charges, cast Elemental Fusion at 4, fill with Combustion and Cold Shock, refresh Curse.
A starting macro (AION2 Codex, not benchmarked):
- Summon line: Summon: Water Spirit, Jointstrike: Corrode, Summon: Earth Spirit, Summon: Fire Spirit.
- Combat line: Elemental Fusion, Dimensional Control, Jointstrike: Curse, Combustion.
- Basic attack: Cold Shock on left click. Bind the macro key to right click and hold it.
- Manual: Summon: Ancient Spirit, Spirit’s Benediction, Flame Blessing, Wind Spirit, Soul’s Cry and Rapid Scattershot.
- Delay: AION2 Codex starts at 50 ms per entry; games.gg says 10 ms on low ping and about 40 ms on high ping. Test on a dummy.
Players say the macro fires the bottom skill of each line first, so put your most important skill there. games.gg adds that Jointstrike: Destructive Attack cannot go in a macro, so give it its own key.
Dimensional Control needs a spirit skill first, and the spirit acts on the server, so it never lights up instantly. A slow macro catches every proc and a fast one skips most of them. Most players say it doesn’t hit hard enough to slow your spirit rotation for it.
Some players skip the macro. One called Spiritmaster “the only class in this game that doesn’t need a macro”, because you pick the last spirit per fight: Fire for area damage, Earth to tank, Wind for healing. They put Elemental Fusion, Dimensional Control and Combustion on right click and cast spirits by hand. If your damage looks low, compare both setups on a dummy before blaming your gear.
Use only the in-game macro. Players report that mouse-software macros on left and right click stopped working, and others warned that outside macro programs can be treated as a rules violation. The built-in macro is the safe option.
Boss opener
games.gg gives a priority list rather than a timed opener. Put together:
- Summon your main spirits to build charges before the pull, then let the tank grab the boss.
- Apply Jointstrike: Curse and Jointstrike: Corrode.
- Summon Ancient Spirit and cast Spirit’s Benediction and Flame Blessing together.
- Cast Elemental Fusion every time you reach 4 charges. Ancient Spirit’s skills give Four Elements, so Fusion comes much faster in this window.
- Fill with Combustion, Dimensional Control after each spirit skill and Cold Shock for MP, and re-summon spirits on cooldown to refresh Spirit’s Descent.
Don’t hold Fusion for a perfect moment: while Four Elements is active, new charges don’t build up.
Damage you can expect. A Spiritmaster at 1,400 gear score and 70k combat power said they usually top their group; one at 1,500 gear score did about 12k DPS; one at 2,291 gear score reported a best one-minute dummy result of 29k and said single-target damage trails Sorcerer and Templar. Players describe a curve: strong early, a dip while Sorcerers and Rangers get key stigmas and level 16 skills, then a comeback once several skills and stigmas reach 20.
Leveling build
The class levels quickly. One player posted a 1→45 Spiritmaster speedrun of 3 h 16 min on r/Aion2. For leveling and open-world farming, games.gg suggests:
- Fire Spirit as the main summon, with the area specialty on Elemental Fusion.
- Cursed Cloud once stigmas open at 22.
- Water Spirit and Cold Shock between pulls to refill MP, plus Wind Spirit for small heals.
Skill points before 45 go to Combustion, Elemental Fusion and Fire Spirit. On an alt, side quests and exploration have to be done again. The best class for solo farming guide compares Spiritmaster with the other seven classes for open-world grinding.
Party role
- You are a damage dealer and get treated like one. Players say party leaders pick damage dealers by combat power and range. Players add that the class brings no party buff of its own.
- Party finder. Damage classes wait longer for groups than Clerics. Several Spiritmasters say the fix is to make your own group.
- Aggro. Earth Spirit raises enmity. Swap it out if you keep pulling the boss off a Templar.
Daily and weekly dungeon limits are in our dungeon guide.
Spiritmaster PvP: Arena and Abyss
Shugo.gg rates Spiritmaster PvP at A, based mostly on Korean and Taiwanese data. Global players split: some win most 1v1s at equal gear except against Templars and Assassins, and a Chanter called it one of its toughest Arena matchups; others call it “kinda mid” because fears get resisted. The shared weakness: get jumped before your spirits and control are set up and you lose.
PvP build (games.gg):
- Soul’s Cry: single-target fear, 70% chance on players. Level it beyond 3 for PvP.
- Cry of Terror: area fear, 50% chance.
- Magic Block: 75% chance to seal skills.
- Seize Magic: removes enemy buffs. games.gg says up to 2, a player says 5 plus a skill seal; check your tooltip.
- Command: Proxy: splits damage 50/50 with your spirit, and spirits can body-block attacks.
In the Arena, open from a safe distance, keep fears for after the enemy uses an escape, and use Proxy and Defiance before you are low. In the Abyss, drop Cursed Cloud on groups, time fears with your team and seal dangerous casters. Players add that Spiritmasters can fight grounded enemies while flying, and that status resist gear and scrolls help. Keep separate PvE and PvP skill presets. More on PvP stats and where to fight is in our PvP guide.
Spiritmaster vs other classes
| Class | PvE / PvP (Shugo.gg) | Compared with Spiritmaster |
|---|---|---|
| Spiritmaster | A / A | Instant casts, spirits take hits, strong area damage |
| Sorcerer | S / B | More burst, far more fragile; one player measured it 4–5k DPS ahead at 1,400 gear score. See our Sorcerer guide |
| Ranger | A / A | More mobile, weak early, strong once Vaizel’s Authority hits 20. See our Ranger guide |
| Assassin | A / S | Melee burst, stronger in PvP. See our Assassin guide |
| Gladiator | B / S | Easiest solo farmer, melee. See our Gladiator build |
| Templar, Cleric, Chanter | S / B, S / B, S / C | Tank and supports; much easier to get into groups. See the Templar, Cleric and Chanter guides |
Spiritmaster or Sorcerer is the comparison players ask about most. Pick Spiritmaster if you play with high ping or want to survive mistakes. Several players say instant casts handle 150–200 ms better than Sorcerer’s charged Hellfire. Pick Sorcerer if you want the highest damage and accept dodging all the time.
How Aion2 Bot helps a Spiritmaster
Field farming on a Spiritmaster means clearing the same packs for hours. Auto Combat in Aion2 Bot (Aion.Onl) runs the skill rotation for every class and recognizes stigma skills stacked on your hotbar, so Ancient Spirit and Cursed Cloud on your bar get used. Active Pull gathers monsters before the fight; for a Spiritmaster, whether to use it depends on your gear. Rapid Fire mode is usually best left off, since it uses basic attacks only and skips the rotation. Field grinding does not go after bosses on its own, and by default it switches to gathering when you reach about 95% of the day’s Kinah cap from monsters. Set the in-game action mode to “Aion1” first, and use patrol points and the monster filter to keep the character moving between packs.
For leveling an alt, Auto Quest runs the main story to level 45 for Elyos and Asmodian characters of every class, then clears valuable side quests and reward caves. Smart pet farming goes to the nearest spot for pets you haven’t maxed yet and moves on when one is done, which helps with Genus Insight. The client runs in fullscreen; set your resolution before installing, as the setup guide explains.
Keep the risk in mind: NC restricts accounts for bots and unauthorized programs, and no third-party tool can promise you will not be banned. Aion.Onl uses advanced anti-detection techniques to protect accounts as far as possible. New users can register at user.aion.onl for a free 3-hour trial card, support is on Telegram, and the client is on the download page. How the in-game macro differs from outside programs is covered in our auto combat guide.
FAQ
Is Spiritmaster good in AION 2? Yes. Community lists rate it A for PvE and PvP and A or S for solo farming. Damage dips mid game and recovers once key skills and stigmas reach 20.
What is the best Spiritmaster build? The Elemental Fusion build: Combustion and Elemental Fusion as high as you can push them, Fire Spirit as the main summon, and Ancient Spirit, Spirit’s Benediction, Jointstrike: Corrode and Flame Blessing as PvE stigmas.
Which stigma should go to 20 first? Summon: Ancient Spirit. It is in every PvE setup and it is your burst window. Corrode is the main alternative for boss content.
Fire or Earth spirit? Fire is the default for damage and farming. Some experienced players now run Earth with Ancient Spirit and say it is just as fast. Test both on a dummy.
What is the best Spiritmaster PvP stigma set? Cry of Terror, Seize Magic, Magic Block and Command: Proxy for the Arena. Swap Cursed Cloud in for the Abyss.
Do I need a macro on Spiritmaster? Most players macro summons, Fusion, Curse and Combustion and keep Ancient Spirit and buffs manual. A few skip it to pick the last spirit per fight. Avoid outside macro software.

Tier ratings come from Shugo.gg and aion2tierlist.com as summarized in our class tier list. All of these are player or editorial reports. The only official Spiritmaster change on Global so far is in the Oct. 13 PDT / Oct. 14 CEST patch notes, which fixed Summon: Ancient Spirit summons at level 15 or below not activating their skills properly. We found no reliable theostone data for the class.
