AION 2 Gladiator Build (Global): Low Early Damage, Stigmas and Macros

Short answer: Gladiator damage on AION 2 Global feels low early for two reasons, and both are real. Part of it is setup, because a weak macro or the wrong stigma mix costs a lot of damage. Part of it is scaling: the class needs skill levels, stigma upgrades and accessory rolls before it hits hard. Fix the setup first, test it on a dummy, and expect the rest to come with gear.

What the Gladiator is on Global

The Gladiator is a greatsword melee class that sits between pure damage and off-tank. It heals off its own attacks and has wide sweeping skills, which is why it is the default beginner pick and rates top tier for solo farming in our class tier list for Global. The same list shows the catch: on early Global PvE damage logs, Gladiators sit near the bottom, so groups looking for pure damage often pass them over.

Two more early pain points come up again and again: mana runs short in long fights at low levels, and some players find the class hard to get groups with as an alt. One Reddit thread on alt choices put Gladiator and Assassin at the bottom for that reason.

Why early Gladiator damage feels low: the debate

On the Steam forums, a thread asking NC to buff the Gladiator split into three camps.

Camp 1: it is your setup. These players say a Gladiator with the wrong combination of regular and stigma skills, or a poorly ordered macro, does far less damage than one that is set up well. In their view, most “Gladiator is weak” complaints are build problems.

Camp 2: it is scaling. These players argue that the class is built for later in the game. Their reasoning:

  • Several classes seem balanced around a later version of the game. Some players believe the balance comes from the Korean and Taiwanese servers, which are seasons ahead, so Season 1 limits hit gear-hungry classes like the Gladiator harder. This is a player theory, not something NC has said.
  • Classes like the Chanter are very strong early and fall off, while Gladiator and Ranger take over later.
  • The turning point players name is when your first skills reach level 16, your stigmas are levelled and your accessories have good rolls.

Camp 3: it is just weak right now. Some players say flatly that Gladiator damage is close to healers and tanks today, and no build changes that.

Our read: camps 1 and 2 are not really in conflict. A bad macro makes a Gladiator look much worse than it is, and even a good one will not out-damage burst classes in early Season 1 gear. NC’s October 13 (PDT) patch changed only Spiritmaster and Sorcerer skills, so nothing has changed for the Gladiator since launch. Check future patch notes before you assume a buff is coming.

Test your damage before changing your build

Guessing wastes time and materials. Use the training dummy:

  1. Hit the dummy for 60 seconds with your current setup and note the damage.
  2. Turn the macro off and repeat with manual play.
  3. Change one thing at a time, whether a stigma, the macro order or a skill point, and run it again.

A Reddit guide on Gladiator macros used the same method, comparing dummy damage with and without the in-game macro. Your own numbers matter more than anyone’s forum post, because gear and skill levels differ so much this early.

Macro setup tips

Commenters on that guide pointed out something many players miss: the in-game macro does not just fire skills in strict order. It checks priority and cooldowns and decides what to cast next, so how you rank skills matters more than how you list them.

Practical tips players share:

  • Buffs first. Put your damage buff at the top of the priority, so the burst lands inside it.
  • Keep defensives out. Leave block or damage-reduction skills off the macro and press them yourself when a big hit is coming.
  • Watch mana early. If you run dry in long pulls, lower the priority of your most expensive filler.
  • Two setups. A “solo farm” macro with wide sweeping skills on top, and a “single target” macro for bosses.

Stigma and stat priorities

  • Solo leveling and farming: stigmas that add area damage and sustain. Gladiator’s strength is pulling a pack and clearing it, so lean into that.
  • Group PvE: single-target damage stigmas, since groups judge you by damage meters.
  • PvP: block and crowd-control resistance.

Korean Gladiator players, who are much further along, share a long-term reference for block-based builds. They aim for a block value of roughly 2,600–2,800 for mid-tier group content and 3,000 or more for the hardest content. They also warn that block does not stop crowd control, so you need control-resistance stats as well. These numbers come from a later Korean game state; they show where the build is headed, not what you need on Global today.

Global vs Korea

Korean guides are useful but out of step with Global. Korea and Taiwan are several seasons ahead, have higher stigma caps described in community posts, and have a ninth class, the Brawler, that Global does not. Copy the reasoning behind Korean builds, not the numbers. For anything that depends on caps or slot counts, NC’s Global patch notes are the source to trust.

Where Aion2 Bot fits

Your build and macro are still yours to tune; the bot does not choose stigmas for you. Where it helps is the grind that makes a Gladiator strong: levels, materials and Kinah. Auto Combat runs a skill rotation for every class, Gladiator included, and recognizes stigma skills stacked on your hotbar. For a melee class, turn Active Pull off, as the Auto Combat guide recommends that setting for area-damage classes and not for melee. Set up a short route with patrol points and the monster filter, and set the in-game action mode to “Aion1” first, or auto-attack may not work. The helper also runs in fullscreen; set your resolution before installing (setup guide).

NC restricts accounts for bots and unauthorized programs, so every third-party tool carries risk, and nobody can promise you won’t be banned. Aion.Onl uses advanced anti-detection techniques to protect accounts as far as possible. New users get a free 3-hour trial card by registering at user.aion.onl; support is on Telegram.
