AION 2 Outfit and Costume Guide: Closet, Skins, Dyes and Halloween Atelier Looks
In AION 2, outfits are appearance skins, and they all live in your Closet. Press ESC, open the Closet, and you can put any armor or weapon look you own over the gear you are actually wearing. Skins come from three main places: the Atelier tab of the in-game Shop, limited-time events such as the Halloween Pumpkin Coin exchange, and Founder’s Packs. They change how you look, not your stats.
This guide follows NC’s notices for the Steam / PURPLE Global service as of October 17, 2026. The Korean and Taiwanese services run different shops and events, so do not assume their items or prices carry over.
What is in the Closet
From NC’s product listings and server-transfer notes, the Closet is split into a few sections:
| Section | What it holds | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Closet – Armor | Chest, legs, headgear, gloves, boots, cloak, plus head, face and eye decorations | Full sets are split into pieces when claimed |
| Closet – Weapons | Greatsword, longsword, dagger, bow, spellbook, orb, mace, staff | Locked to the matching class |
| Wings | Wing appearances | Some are limited per character |
| Pets | Shown in the Pet menu | Not part of the Closet, but sold in the same shop |
| Collection Points | Your Closet collection progress | Moves with you on a server transfer |
Separately there is character appearance customization: saved looks go in “My Appearances”, downloaded ones in the “Download Library”, and you can register your own look in the Style Shop for other players to download. On launch day (October 5) NC gave every player a Customization Voucher (Bound); the notice pointed to ESC > Closet as the place to use it.
Where outfits come from
1. Atelier (paid)
Open it from the game menu > Shop > Atelier, or from the Closet > Shop > Atelier. The Halloween line that went on sale with the October 13 (PDT) / 14 (CEST) update is the newest batch:
| Item | PURPLE reference price | Key limits |
|---|---|---|
| Monarch of Blood set (6 pieces incl. cloak) | $29.99 | Pieces go to Closet – Armor |
| Midnight Witch / Midnight Slasher sets (5 pieces each) | $29.99 each | Same as above |
| Halloween Night weapon skins | $11.99 each | One design per class; buy only the one for your class |
| Pumpkin Carriage, Little Ghost pets | $19.99 each | One of each per server |
| Spider Wings | $19.99 | One per character |
| Jack-o’-lantern headwear, bandage and face pieces | 300 Quna each | Limits differ between headwear and decorations |
The Atelier sale runs until the November 24 (PST) / 25 (CET) maintenance. Dollar figures are PURPLE reference prices; Steam checkout can differ with region and tax. The full list is in our Halloween Atelier shop breakdown.
2. Events (free)
The Trick or Treat event (until the November 3 PST maintenance) lets you trade Pumpkin Coins for looks:
- Special Halloween Chest: 250 Pumpkin Coins, once per server. It contains the “Spooky Scary Skeleton” chest armor skin and 10,000 pet Soul Crystals.
- Skin Chest (10 pulls) (Bound): 15 Pumpkin Coins each, up to 5 per server per week.
Pumpkin Coins come from daily check-ins and the event missions in the season pass. See our Halloween event guide for the exchange list.
3. Founder’s Packs
After the October 6 (PDT) / 7 (CEST) patch, the Ascended Daeva armor skin, Eternal Sun weapon skin, Moonlit Aria armor skin, Blazing Sun wings and Black Dragon pet from the Deluxe and Ultimate Founder’s Packs became usable by every character on the account, on every server. Background is in our Founder’s Pack news.
Can you dye, customize or trade skins?
Each NC product listing marks four things: Trade / Delete / Storage / Customize. Shop skins are generally not tradable, not deletable and not storable in a warehouse, and most can be customized. There are exceptions: Halloween decorations such as the “Tears of Blood” eye piece are marked as not customizable.
Customizing (dyeing) happens in the Closet’s Customize option, where players describe separate controls for color, material and pattern. English guide sites put the cost at around 200 Quna per piece; check the price shown in your client. Tips players share:
- Preview before buying. Check the color you want is actually reachable on that piece.
- Material changes the result. Matte materials hold color differently from glossy ones, and lighting in towns and fields varies.
- Weapon skins are class-locked. Leveling a second class does not give you the other weapon.
- Pets and wings have different purchase limits (per server vs. per character), so check who receives the item before you buy.
- Event items are bound, and leftover Pumpkin Coins are removed after the event.
What a server transfer does to your Closet
The transfer window runs until the October 27 (PDT) / 28 (CET) maintenance. According to NC’s transfer Q&A:
- Every skin you own moves to the destination server and is merged with what you already have there; the original server is emptied.
- Closet Collection Points, Style Shop registrations, My Appearances and the Download Library go with you.
- If the destination already has the same non-customizable decoration, you get a Skin (Single) exchange voucher for a 300-Quna shop item, valid until the November 24 (PST) maintenance.
In other words, the Closet is tracked per account, per server. If you plan to move, read the server transfer rules first, and our transfer checklist, instead of buying a skin on a server you are about to leave.
Styling tips
- Pick your main class before buying weapon skins. Not decided yet? See the class tier list.
- Mix and match sets. Because sets arrive as separate pieces, you can wear one set’s cloak with another’s headwear.
- Grab event skins first. Free Skin Chests are capped weekly, and missed weeks do not roll over.
- Alts get Founder’s skins too, so there is no need to buy a pack twice for looks.
FAQ
Do outfits give stats? No. NC’s listings describe them as appearance items, and we have not seen any official statement that a costume raises damage or drop rates.
Are outfits shared between characters? Going by the transfer notes, the Closet is tracked per account and per server, so characters on the same server can use what you own; moving servers means merging through a transfer. Founder’s Pack skins became cross-character and cross-server on October 7. Check what your Closet shows.
Can I sell outfits to other players? Shop skins are marked non-tradable and event skins are bound. Offers to “buy costumes for you” or sell accounts with rare looks involve account trading, which NC’s operation policy penalizes. Stay away from them.
Try new looks for free: Aion2 Bot Free Appearance
If you just want variety on your own screen, Aion2 Bot (Aion.Onl) has a Free Appearance feature (All-in-One card): click an outfit, weapon or wing name to wear it; weapons are filtered to your class and wings to your race; and each category has its own shuffle that only picks from the favorites you check, saved per character.
To be clear: Free Appearance only shows on your own screen. Other players still see your real look, it does not change any stats, and it does not buy or permanently unlock Shop skins. If you want others to see it, you still need to get the skin in-game. More in the Free Appearance update. The client is on the download page, new users can register at user.aion.onl for a free 3-hour test card, and tutorials and support are on Telegram. Any third-party tool carries a risk of penalties, so read the rules and decide for yourself.
