AION 2 Global Advance Access Preload Is Live Ahead of September 30

AION 2 Global has entered its final pre-launch preparation window. NC’s official AION 2 channel confirmed that Advance Access pre-download opened on September 28 at 6:00 AM PDT — 13:00 UTC, 9:00 PM in UTC+8, and 10:00 PM in Japan and Korea.

This is a client pre-download, not the opening of the game servers. Founder’s Pack Advance Access still begins on September 30, while the free-to-play global launch remains scheduled for October 5.

Pre-download is not server access

The September 28 window lets eligible players install the release client ahead of time. Finishing the download does not unlock the world early; players still need to wait for Advance Access servers to open.

The official pre-download post gives a precise clock time for September 28, but it does not attach an exact server-open hour to September 30 in the same announcement. Players should therefore avoid treating the preload timestamp as the gameplay unlock time.

Steam playtest users need the release client

Players who joined the Launch Scale Test through Steam should also remember that the Playtest App is not the retail client. NC previously instructed Steam testers to uninstall the Playtest App and download AION 2 separately for Advance Access. PURPLE users were told they do not need the same migration step.

For Founder’s Pack owners, the practical checklist now is simple: make sure the correct release client is installed and keep Steam or PURPLE ready for any launch-day patch.

Who is this preload for?

NC’s official wording ties this preload directly to Early/Advance Access and the Founder’s Pack. The announcement is therefore aimed at players preparing to enter on September 30.

The post does not confirm a separate preload window for free-to-play users ahead of October 5, so players waiting for the free launch should continue watching the official Global channels.
