AION 2 Global Launch FAQ Confirms Steam and PURPLE Share Servers and Account Linking Is Optional

AION 2 Global’s September 30 Launch FAQ clears up several practical questions about Steam, PURPLE, account progress and platform support.

Steam and PURPLE use the same servers and content

NC says there is no in-game content difference between the Steam and PURPLE versions, and players from both platforms share the same servers.

A Steam player does not have to link a PURPLE account simply to play. Account linking becomes necessary if the player wants to access the same character and progression through both Steam and PURPLE.

Korea and Taiwan progress does not carry over

The FAQ also confirms that progress from the Korean or Taiwan services does not transfer into Global. The Global service has its own character and progression environment.

Official support is focused on Windows PC

Global is available through Steam and PURPLE. NC currently provides official support for Windows PC. Controllers may be usable, but controller play is not officially supported, and Linux or Steam Deck do not have official support commitments at this time.

Voice-over is available in English, Japanese and Korean. UI and subtitles support English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Korean.

AION 2 Global is free-to-play with optional membership, cosmetics and a Battle Pass. Players should use the current Global store and official notices for the latest membership and economy details.
