AION 2 Global Oct. 14 Patch: Odyle Energy Limits, Y-Axis Option and 4K Crash Fix

Region: Steam/PURPLE Global, not Korea or Taiwan. NC’s patch notes for October 13 (PDT) / October 14 (CEST) carried two headline changes we have already covered separately: the seven-hour Abyss time cap and the new gameplay-history check on gathered-material Market listings. This piece rounds up the rest of the patch, from shop changes during server transfers to class fixes, new settings and client fixes.

Wind Breeze Merchant changes during server transfers

The patch notes say these changes apply during the server transfer period. According to the transfer notices, that period runs from after the October 13 (PDT) / 14 (CEST) maintenance until before the October 27 (PDT) / 28 (CET) maintenance.

“Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound)” and “Soul Crystal (Bound)” move from Shop > Wind Breeze Merchants > Special to Substance Morph > Special > Wind Breeze Merchants. The Server Transfer Q&A adds that they are not sold in the Shop during the transfer period, but the same quantities can be obtained through Substance Morph.
“Odyle Energy (Bound)” is sold differently: the weekly limit of 16 per server is removed, and the weekly per-character limit rises from 4 to 20. The Q&A describes this as a temporary switch from a server-wide limit to a character-based limit while transfers are running.
“Lower Abyss Rift Stone (7-day)” is on sale in the Special tab for two weeks. We covered the details in our Abyss update story.

The patch notes do not list a price for Odyle Energy in this section, so check the in-game Shop before buying.

Class fixes: Spiritmaster and Sorcerer

New settings

An option to invert the Y-axis in the Settings menu.
An option to show or hide HP bars under “Show My Nameplate”.

The same section also adjusts Battlefield base stats, reduces stuttering in large Abyss battles and adds Abyss Entry Stones to two weekly Season Missions. Those are covered in our Abyss story.

Client fixes

Graphics settings were configured incorrectly on PCs with two graphics cards.
Crashes at certain refresh rates on 4K monitors.
Longer loading times with the FSR option enabled.
Player positions reset when reconnecting during Shugo Festival.
Graphics settings are no longer saved to Steam Cloud.

New shop items and the Halloween event

The patch also adds Halloween cosmetics. Monarch of Blood, Midnight Witch and Midnight Slasher armor sets are $29.99 each. Halloween Night weapon skins are $11.99 each and locked to the matching class. The Pumpkin Carriage and Little Ghost pets are $19.99 each, once per server. Spider Wings are $19.99, once per character. There is also a batch of 300 Quna helm and decor skins. NC notes that prices are based on the Purple Store and may differ by store. These items stay on sale until the regular maintenance on November 24 (PST) / November 25 (CET). The Trick or Treat attendance and coin-exchange event has its own write-up.

What this means for Global players

For players with several characters, the Odyle Energy change matters most. During the transfer weeks there is no 16-per-server weekly cap, and each character can buy up to 20 a week, which helps if energy is what stops your daily grind. It is still a transfer-period arrangement, though. The patch notes don’t say whether the old limits come back afterward, so watch for the next notice.

The dual-GPU, 4K and FSR fixes target some of the most common launch-week crash and display complaints. If you still crash after the update, review your graphics settings first. And because graphics settings no longer sync through Steam Cloud, you will need to set them again after switching PCs or reinstalling.
