AION 2 Korea's October 13 Stream Explains Combat-Speed Differences from Global
Region: this is reporting on a Korean-service developer livestream from October 13, 2026. References to Steam/PURPLE Global are comparisons, not announcements of a new worldwide balance patch. Taiwan is not included in this discussion.
Korean player summaries of the broadcast highlight a fundamental difference in how the two services have developed their combat pacing. The team discussed percentage-based scaling, attack speed, cooldown reduction and the challenge of preserving meaningful manual inputs when skill actions become extremely rapid.
Why Global tuning cannot simply be copied into Korea
According to two viewer recaps, the new Global release deliberately limits some forms of percentage-stat inflation. Korea’s established character builds and encounter pacing rely on substantially faster attacks and shorter cooldowns. Applying Global-style parameters overnight would change the experience for existing Korean characters.
The Korean team’s stated intention was instead to make successive skill and combat adjustments that keep deliberate player inputs worthwhile. This is a development direction, not a published list of across-the-board nerfs or a firm rollout date.
It also explains why apparently similar class builds are not necessarily interchangeable between regions. Skill timing and stat scaling must be checked against the version a player actually uses.
A more nuanced optimization discussion
The recaps describe the speakers linking some perceived performance differences to attack intensity: lower attack speeds can mean fewer actions and less related processing traffic in a given interval. They indicated that Korea’s performance issues would receive attention and rejected the idea that mobile support alone explains them.
Those remarks do not establish a measured FPS improvement or guarantee that every PC will perform better on Global. Player density, hardware, networking and the precise client version remain important.
What to watch next
Korean players should look for official follow-up notes before making decisions based on any proposed balance changes. Global players should not interpret this livestream as a commitment to synchronize skills, attack-speed caps or performance patches. As with Taiwan, only region-specific release notes establish what is live.
