How to Farm Raw Leather in AION 2: Sources, Spots and the Oct 7 Buff

Short answer: Raw Leather in AION 2 only drops from monsters, and only from monsters that still give you experience. Open the material in your crafting window and click Source to see every monster that drops it. Farm the ones within about five levels of you, and favour Verteron, Altgard and Chaotic Lower Reshanta, where NC raised the drop rate on October 7. Even then, most players say it is slow, so farm it alongside pet souls rather than on its own.

Step 1: find the drop list in-game

You do not need a database site. In the crafting window, click Raw Leather (or any material that needs it) and use the Source option at the top. It lists every monster that drops the material. Korean material tables say the same thing: Raw Leather is a monster drop used for ordinary armor crafting, not a gathering node.

Pick monsters from that list that live on a map you are already levelling on. Travel time eats more of your hour than a slightly worse drop rate does.

Step 2: respect the level gap

The rule players repeat most is about level:

• Monsters must give you experience. Several players report that grey, low-level monsters drop nothing, and some say not even pet souls.
• Stay within roughly five levels. Monsters around your level, or above it, are the ones that drop. Once a zone turns grey, move on.

NC has not published the exact rule, so treat “five levels” as a community rule of thumb and check it yourself.

Spots players recommend

These come from Reddit and Steam forum posts, some by players on the Taiwan or Korea servers. Check each against your own Source list before you commit.

If one spot dries up for you, it is usually the level gap or the monster type, not bad luck. One player says a single map gave them leather “coming out of their ears”; another got one piece in ten hours.

How much do you actually need?

That is where the frustration comes from. Players report:

• A chest piece needs 8 Raw Leather.
• Raw Leather is refined into Sturdy Leather. English-speaking players mention 2 Raw for 1 Sturdy, while a French reviewer reported 4 for 1. Recipes may differ by item, so check yours in the crafting window.
• A French reviewer estimated about 80 leather for a full armor set, which at their drop rate meant thousands of kills.
• Crafting can fail, and players complain that a failed attempt wastes the materials.

Drop-rate estimates from players vary wildly: about 3.9% from ordinary monsters in one count, about 62% from one specific elite (Predator Garsan), and 0.5–1% in another estimate, roughly one piece per 30–40 kills. These are small personal samples. NC has not published drop rates, so the official figures are whatever NC announces.

The October 7 drop buff: official, but hard to feel

This part is confirmed. NC’s patch notes for October 6 (PDT) / October 7 (CEST) raised Raw Leather drop rates for monsters in:

• Chaotic Lower Reshanta;
• Verteron and Altgard.

The notes give no before or after numbers. Player reaction is mixed. Most say they cannot feel any difference. A few report a small change, going from zero leather per 100 kills to two or three. Some even claim it got worse, which with drops this rare is more likely a bad streak than a hidden nerf. Since both factions’ starter regions got the buff, Elyos (Verteron) and Asmodian (Altgard) players benefit equally. We covered the full patch in our October 7 patch summary.

Some players also believe drop rates are kept low on purpose to push people toward buying from gold farmers. There is no evidence for that; it is a theory, nothing more.

Does leather stop dropping after the daily Kinah cap?

Unconfirmed. A Global player raised it, and a Korean livestream summary from December 2025 mentioned field drops switching off at the cap on the Korean version. Nobody has shown it for Global. Test it yourself: note your leather per hour before and after you hit the cap on the same spot.

Farm it smarter

• Combine it with pet souls. Leather and Raw Meat drop while you farm pet souls, and several players say that alone covers what they need.
• Mix monster farming into your routine. One player noticed that looping the same gathering spot for hours brought up Guardian verification more often, and mixing in monster farming reduced it. That is one player’s experience, not a rule.

Where Aion2 Bot fits

Raw Leather is a kill-count problem, and kill counts are what automation is for. With patrol points and the monster filter, click “Smart Plan” to build a route around a dense spot, tick “Enable Filter” and add only the monsters from your Source list, so the bot ignores anything that does not drop leather. If you are farming pets anyway, smart pet farming goes to the nearest spot for pets that are not maxed and moves on when one is done; leather comes along as a by-product. On long sessions, the Control Center handles Guardian verification while it is running. Auto Combat also does not chase bosses in the field, so your farm is not interrupted.
