"Insufficient Gameplay Record" in AION 2: Market Listing FAQ

If AION 2 refuses to list your ore, gems or Odyle with a message about an insufficient gameplay record, you’ve hit the gathered-material listing restriction that NC added to the Global Market on October 13 (PDT) / October 14 (CEST). It is not a ban and not a Membership problem. NC has not published how to unlock it, so the honest answer is to keep playing normally, sell what you can and contact Customer Support if you think your account was misjudged.

Below are the questions players have been asking on the Steam forums since the patch, answered with what is confirmed and what is still guesswork. For the news report itself, see AION 2 Global Adds Gameplay-History Checks for Gathered-Material Market Listings.

What exactly did NC announce?

One line in the October 13/14 patch notes on the official site and Steam:

“A system will be added to restrict the listing of gathering materials on the Market based on gameplay history.”

That’s the whole official description. It names the category (gathering materials), the action (Market listing) and the factor (gameplay history). It gives no threshold, no list of items and no unlock condition. Everything beyond that line is, at the time of writing, unconfirmed.

What does the message look like in game?

Players quote it slightly differently, which is why people search for both “insufficient gameplay record” and “insufficient gameplay history”. The wording most often reported is along the lines of Listing certain items for sale is restricted due to insufficient gameplay history. It appears at the moment you try to register a gathered item on the Market, not while gathering.

Which items are affected?

Player reports since October 14 mention Odyle, ore and gems (for example diamonds). That fits NC’s “gathering materials” wording. NC hasn’t published a full list, so:

  • Golden gear and other non-gathered items are not named in the restriction.
  • If one gathered item lists and another doesn’t, that’s consistent with item-level rules, not a bug. Note which item failed.

Is my account flagged as a bot or banned?

No, not by this message alone. NC handles account sanctions separately: its account-restriction notices on October 14 and 16 say restrictions follow a review under the Operation Policy, and they name bots, macros, unauthorized programs, gold-farming patterns and abnormal trading. Those notices also say “normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected.”

A listing restriction is a Market rule, not a sanction. You can still log in, gather, craft, run content and use the Market for other items.

How do I remove the restriction?

NC has not said. Here’s what is reasonable and what isn’t:

Reasonable (with no guarantee):

  • Keep playing the game broadly: quests, dailies, dungeons, Abyss, crafting. The patch ties the rule to “gameplay history”, so a fuller history is the only direction NC’s own wording points to. Several players report heavy dungeon play and still being restricted, so there’s no known number of hours or runs.
  • Use the gathered materials yourself in the meantime. Crafting doesn’t require listing raw materials.
  • Contact NC Customer Support with a screenshot of the message, the item name and the time. One player relayed that support described the system in terms of an account “trust level”. That’s second-hand, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Not supported by anything NC has said:

  • “Buy Quna to raise your trust level.” This started as a forum joke. There’s no evidence spending money changes the rule.
  • “It resets at the next daily/weekly reset.” No player has reported it lifting at a reset.
  • “Transfer servers to wipe it.” NC’s server-transfer notice lists Market History among the data that moves with a character, so there’s no reason to expect a fresh start.

The answer may change once NC publishes criteria. Check the official notices before acting on any “fix” you see in a video.

Do I still need Membership and level 45?

Yes. Those are separate gates. NC’s Launch FAQ says Membership gives access to the player-driven economy and currency exchanges, and guides list level 45 for the Market. A character can meet both and still hit the gathered-material restriction, or be free of the restriction and still lack Market access. Fix whichever one the client actually reports.

Is this connected to the captcha I get while gathering?

Not officially. Players report captchas during gathering and pet farming as well, but NC hasn’t linked the two. A captcha is a check during play; the listing restriction appears only when you try to sell. Answer captchas carefully either way.

Why did NC add it?

The patch doesn’t give a reason, but the context is obvious. NC restricted 4,996 accounts on October 10 for botting and economy abuse, and further restriction notices followed on October 14 and 16. Gathered materials are what gold-farming bots produce in bulk. The hope is less bot supply on the Market; whether prices actually change has not been measured. The side effect, as many legitimate gatherers point out, is that honest players get caught too.

Common misunderstandings

Claim Reality
“Gathering is disabled.” No. Only listing gathered materials can be restricted.
“It applies to all items.” NC’s note covers gathering materials only.
“Membership will unlock it.” Membership is a separate requirement.
“There’s a known playtime threshold.” NC hasn’t published one.
“This means a ban is coming.” Sanctions are separate and follow review.

What this means for gatherers using automation

If your plan was gather → list → repeat, the listing step now depends on NC’s rule, and nothing should try to get around it. With Aion2 Bot (Aion.Onl), smart gathering still handles the walking part of a route: it finds nodes, paths to them, fights back and can stop by Hidden Cube spawn spots. Auto auction listing lists qualifying golden gear and stacked materials at the lowest or average price when the character has Market access. If the game refuses a gathered material, the automated listing is refused the same way. It doesn’t bypass the restriction, and you shouldn’t use any tool that claims to.

Balancing the day matters more now. The Daily Activities planner can switch between dailies, Abyss, ground-gold farming and gathering, which mirrors what a varied play history looks like anyway. Keep in mind that NC’s Operation Policy names bots and unauthorized programs; Aion.Onl uses anti-detection techniques to protect accounts as far as possible, but no third-party tool is risk-free.
