AION 2 Global Warns Players: Buying Kinah or Quna From Third Parties Can End Your Access

Region: Steam/PURPLE Global, not Korea or Taiwan. On October 4, the day before the Global launch, NC posted a short notice on the AION 2 Steam announcements page titled “Warning About Purchasing Illicit Currency.” It got little attention at the time, but the four account-restriction notices since then show the rule is being enforced.

What the warning says

  • NC is monitoring all illicit purchases from third-party sources.
  • Buying Kinah or Quna from unauthorized parties is strictly against the Terms of Service and will be met with swift consequences, up to and including termination of access to the game.
  • NC reserves the right to disclose information about disciplinary actions.
  • NC says it “will not be merciful” in protecting the in-game economy and calls this its “first and only warning.”

The notice is aimed at buyers. Risk isn’t limited to the accounts farming or selling currency; players who pay a third party for it are covered too. And it names Quna, the premium currency, not just Kinah.

How it lines up with the restriction notices

Since launch, NC has posted four account-restriction notices on Steam. Each lists Real-Money Trading (RMT) from the Operation Policy sanctions table as a reason, and each names “abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy” as a violation:

Notice Effective (as listed by NC) Accounts restricted
First Oct 10, 11:00 p.m. PDT / Oct 11, 8:00 a.m. CEST 4,996
Second Oct 12, 11:00 p.m. PDT / Oct 13, 8:00 a.m. CEST 10,000
Third Oct 14, 12:00 a.m. PDT / 9:00 a.m. CEST 9,422
Fourth Oct 15, 10:00 p.m. PDT / Oct 16, 6:00 a.m. CEST 7,933

None of the notices breaks the totals down by violation, so there is no way to say how many of these accounts were buyers. What is clear is that RMT sits next to bots and unauthorized programs in every list of reasons.

What this means for Global players

However cheap it looks, Kinah or Quna from a third-party seller is a purchase NC has explicitly banned, and the worst outcome is losing access to the game. Appeals go through NC Support tickets, reviewed one by one. If you want more Kinah, stick to normal gameplay and the official Market. The Market itself added gameplay-history checks on gathered-material listings on October 14, and abnormal trading is part of what gets reviewed.

If you think you were restricted by mistake, the restriction notices ask you to file a Customer Support ticket as soon as possible. We do not offer or recommend any third-party currency sellers.
