AION 2 Announces War for Atreia: 60 Creators, 6 Captains, Starting September 30
AION 2 has added a new launch-period event to its global rollout. On September 19, the official AION 2 YouTube channel revealed War for Atreia, a two-week creator competition built around the game’s Elyos-versus-Asmodian faction rivalry.
The confirmed headline numbers are 60 creators, three regions and six Captains, with the event beginning on September 30, 2026. That date is also the first day of Founder’s Pack Advanced Access, while the free global launch follows on October 5.
What NC has confirmed so far
The announcement is brief, but the basic structure is clear:
- 60 creators will participate;
- they are drawn from three regions;
- competitors will be divided between Elyos and Asmodians;
- six Captains will lead the field;
- the event begins September 30;
- it runs for two weeks.
That timing places War for Atreia across the most important part of the global launch window: the five-day Advanced Access period and the first week after the free-to-play release opens to everyone.
The rules are still largely unknown
As of September 20, NC has not published the full creator roster or named the six Captains. There is also no confirmed scoring system, match format, broadcast schedule or viewer-reward structure yet.
Several questions remain open:
- Which three regions are represented?
- How are creators divided between factions and regions?
- Will the competition focus on the Abyss, Arena, open-world PvP or multiple activities?
- Will there be Twitch drops, codes or other viewer rewards?
- Where will the complete event schedule be published?
Until those details appear, War for Atreia is best treated as a confirmed creator campaign with a launch date and format outline, rather than a fully documented tournament.
Why September 30 matters
The event starts on the same day as Advanced Access. Founder’s Pack owners will enter the persistent global servers on September 30, while the wider free-to-play audience arrives on October 5.
That makes the creator event particularly relevant to Steam Global players watching the early server landscape. Creator faction choices, server choices, PvP activity and launch-week population patterns could all become useful signals once the roster and rules are public.
The next major update to watch for is therefore not another teaser, but the creator roster, Captain lineup, rules and official viewing links.
