AION 2 Adds Apple Pay and Cash App Pay on September 23, With Apple Pay Listed in 56 Markets
NC is expanding AION 2 Global’s payment options just before launch. An official notice confirms that Apple Pay and Cash App Pay are scheduled to be added on September 23, 2026.
The timing puts the payment update one week before Founder’s Pack Advanced Access on September 30 and ahead of the October 5 global free-to-play launch.
Apple Pay is listed for 56 countries and territories
NC’s notice names 56 markets for Apple Pay availability. The list includes the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and many other European markets.
One notable omission is Japan, despite Japan being one of the confirmed server regions for the global release.
NC also adds an important qualification: availability depends on both the supported country and the player’s usage environment. In practical terms, being located in a listed market does not necessarily guarantee that every account, browser, device or checkout flow will expose the option.
Cash App Pay is US-only
Cash App Pay has a much narrower rollout. The official notice lists the United States only.
That gives US players another payment route, but there is currently no announced Cash App Pay availability for Europe, Japan, South America or the other global regions.
The storefront scope is still unclear
The official announcement does not specify whether the new payment methods apply to Steam, PURPLE, NC’s web checkout, or only part of that ecosystem.
That distinction matters because purchases made through Steam are handled through Valve’s payment system, while NC’s own storefronts use separate checkout infrastructure. The notice simply says the methods are being added without naming a specific storefront.
Players planning to use Apple Pay specifically for a Founder’s Pack should therefore verify the actual checkout page once the new options go live on September 23 rather than assume Steam support.
What this changes for launch preparation
This is a payment-infrastructure update, not a change to Founder’s Pack pricing, pack contents or the release schedule.
The current timeline remains:
- September 23: Apple Pay / Cash App Pay scheduled to be added;
- September 30: Founder’s Pack Advanced Access begins;
- October 5: Global launch opens free-to-play.
The next useful clarification would be a storefront-by-storefront breakdown showing exactly where each payment option is supported.
