AION 2 Global Restricts 4,651 Accounts in Its Oct. 28 Action Against Botting, Gold Farming and RMT

Region: Steam / PURPLE Global. NC reported that 4,651 accounts were restricted following a review on October 28. The notice identifies botting and gold farming, unauthorized programs, real-money trading (RMT), and abnormal trading patterns that abuse the in-game economy.

The announcement also draws an important line between policy enforcement and a separate, precautionary account-security measure.

What led to the 4,651 restrictions?

NC listed two broad categories:

  • Botting and gold farming: macros, bots or other unauthorized programs, as well as organized play patterns associated with gold farming or RMT.
  • Economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the in-game economy.

The stated action time was October 28, 2026 at 20:00 PDT / October 29 at 04:00 CET. The notice gives the restricted-account count as 4,651 and says restrictions were applied after review under the Global Operation Policy.

Long grinding sessions are not automatically a violation

The team explicitly says normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected. The notice therefore should not be read as a blanket ban on players who spend many hours farming. It concerns activity reviewed as botting, unauthorized-program use, gold farming or RMT-related conduct, along with abnormal trading.

Players should consult the actual Global policy rather than infer that a particular ordinary play pattern is prohibited from the account count alone.

A temporary security lock is different from a sanction

NC separately mentions a small number of accounts temporarily locked as a precaution when a device or connection presents a potential security risk, such as a possible account compromise.

The company describes this as a protective measure, not a penalty. Affected users are asked to contact Customer Support so access can be restored after verification.

If you believe your account was restricted by mistake
