AION 2 Global Adds Hard Mode to Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island: 2,700 Item-Level Entry

Region: Steam/PURPLE Global only. In the October 27 PDT / October 28 CET Global update, NC added Hard mode to Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island. These are the next two Expedition dungeons to receive a Hard setting, following Krao Cave and Draupnir on October 21.

The four-minute value is the boss Frenzy timer, not a stated overall dungeon time limit. The revive allowance is per player, so groups should plan their recovery resources before the final encounter.

What Hard mode rewards

NC’s update notes list several reward sources:

A chance to obtain Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation (Bound), which can also be selected as a guaranteed reward.
A guaranteed bound Ariel Fragment from the matching dungeon: Ariel Fragment: Urugugu or Ariel Fragment: Vakron.
A chance to obtain Expedition Hero Artwork.
More Kina than in Normal mode.
Unique crafting materials, including Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Wrathful Ego.

The update also adds new Expedition (Hard) achievements. Completing the relevant achievements can award unique skins.

Ariel Fragment exchange routes

Ariel Fragments can be used through Substance Morph:

The bound Daevanion Crystal: Ariel is exchanged under Substance Morph → Special → Consumables. If you are working toward the Ariel Daevanion board, check each character’s 30-exchange allowance before spending fragments elsewhere.

How this differs from the October 21 Hard modes

Global first added Hard mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir on October 21, with a 2,600 item-level requirement. The October 28 update raises the gate to 2,700 for Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island. Both waves use a four-minute boss Frenzy timer and a three-revive limit per player, while their dungeon-specific fragments differ.

These values describe the Global service. Korea and Taiwan have separate update schedules and rules; do not assume that the same item-level gate or reward table applies there.
