AION 2 Global Oct. 28 Patch Raises Class HP and Shortens an Assassin Cooldown
Region: Steam/PURPLE Global only. These changes come from the official notes dated Oct. 27 PDT / Oct. 28 CET and should not be assumed to apply to Korea or Taiwan.
The latest Global patch puts a clear emphasis on survivability. Eight classes receive higher base HP at Level 45, while the Assassin also gets two specific skill adjustments. The same patch lowers some PvE boss stats. Taken together, these are changes intended to make difficult encounters less punishing—not a blanket damage buff for every class.
Level 45 base HP changes
| Class | Before | After | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gladiator | 4,702 | 6,202 | +1,500 |
| Templar | 4,702 | 6,202 | +1,500 |
| Assassin | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
| Ranger | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
| Sorcerer | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
| Spiritmaster | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
| Chanter | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
| Cleric | 4,702 | 5,702 | +1,000 |
Gladiator and Templar receive the largest increase. NC says the changes are meant to help characters withstand boss attacks more reliably, especially melee classes fighting at close range. More base HP does not translate into an identical percentage change in real damage taken, DPS, or PvP ranking; gear, skills, and encounter mechanics still matter.
Two Assassin changes
The patch notes list two targeted adjustments:
- Heightened Sixth Sense: the HP effect becomes 1,000 / 2,000 / 4,000, with display criteria at skill levels 5 / 10 / 20.
- Illusive Clone: base cooldown drops from 90 seconds to 60 seconds.
The shorter cooldown removes 30 seconds from the base wait. Whether that changes a player’s rotation depends on skill level, encounter timing, and other cooldown effects. The notes do not claim a fixed percentage increase to the Assassin’s overall damage.
Boss tuning is part of the same update
The Global patch also reduces selected PvE boss stats:
- Normal Expedition and Transcendence Stage 1: boss attack is reduced by 15%.
- Hard Expedition and Transcendence Stages 2–4: boss attack and Damage Boost are each reduced by 10%.
- Transcendence Stages 1–2: boss HP is reduced by 6.5%.
These adjustments work alongside the HP increases to reduce failures caused by heavy hits or prolonged fights. They do not remove encounter mechanics, so positioning, dodging, and team coordination remain relevant.
Practical checks after patching
- Recheck your Level 45 character’s HP after the update.
- Assassin players can reassess when to use Illusive Clone, but should not rebuild an entire setup based on cooldown alone.
- Review the current difficulty notes before entering an Expedition or Transcendence instance; lower numbers do not mean every mechanic can be ignored.
