AION 2 Global's Eight Classes Explained—and Why Korea and Taiwan Have Nine
Service: Steam/PURPLE Global. If one guide says AION 2 has eight classes and another says nine, first check which region each guide covers. NC’s announcement for the international PC release describes eight playable classes. Korea and Taiwan later received a ninth. This article is a roster guide, not a report that a new Global class launched on October 20.
Choose a role before trusting a tier list
The eight Global professions provide quite different responsibilities:
| Class | Main identity | Good questions to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Templar | Frontline tank and protection | Do you enjoy positioning bosses and protecting a party? |
| Gladiator | Durable close-range combat | Are you comfortable engaging at melee range? |
| Assassin | Precision melee burst | Can you reliably manage entry and attack timing? |
| Ranger | Physical attacks at distance | Do you enjoy repositioning while attacking? |
| Sorcerer | Spellcasting and burst magic | Do you prefer managing casts and control windows? |
| Spiritmaster | Spirits and magical pressure | Is summoning and sustained control appealing? |
| Cleric | Dedicated healing | Would you rather keep allies alive? |
| Chanter | Hybrid melee and group support | Do you like switching between damage and assistance? |
These are broad descriptions, not an official damage ranking. Your preferred activity matters: a competitive arena evaluation is not automatically the best guide to dungeon recruitment or leveling.
The Brawler is real—but regional
In July 2026 NC introduced the Brawler as part of the Korea/Taiwan Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow update. Its weapon is the Gauntlets. Attacks build Rage, with the class able to enter a Rampage state. That update also added regions and progression systems.
None of those Korea/Taiwan details verifies a Brawler release on Global. The current official Global lineup has eight classes, and the sources cited here do not confirm a Global availability date for Brawler. A Korean screenshot of nine character icons should never be presented as proof of a ninth Steam class.
Read builds with their context
Before investing in gear or copying an unfamiliar rotation, check its service region, version date and activity. A Korea endgame ranking may rely on balance passes not present in Global; even the same profession can perform very differently at another gear stage.
Choose the responsibility you actually enjoy, then look for builds tested on the active Steam/PURPLE Global client. Regional material is helpful background, not evidence of features already activated internationally.
